You Don't Have to Figure Out College Alone

Starting college can come with a lot of questions. You may know that you need help, but the hardest part can be figuring out who to ask. With so many offices, programs, and resources available, it is completely normal to wonder, “Which office do I need?”

The good news is that you do not have to know the answer before asking for help. Lemoore College has different departments and support services designed to help students with academic questions, financial concerns, registration, basic needs, and more. If you are not sure where to start, there are people who can help point you in the right direction.

Not Sure Which Office You Need? Start With Counseling & Advising
If you have a question about your college path but are not sure which department can help, Counseling & Advising is a great place to start.

Lemoore College counselors can help with educational planning, course selection, degree and certificate requirements, registration, transfer planning, and connecting you with other campus resources.

You do not need to have everything figured out before making an appointment. You can simply explain what you are trying to accomplish and ask, “Who can help me with this?”

If You Have a Question About Your Classes
Having trouble understanding an assignment or keeping up with your coursework? You have options.

The Academic Center for Excellence (ACE) provides academic support and tutoring both in person and online. Students can receive help with subjects such as reading, writing, and math, as well as assistance understanding assignments and developing stronger study skills.

If you are unsure whether tutoring is right for you, you can still reach out and ask about the support available. Getting help early can make it easier to stay on track.

If You Have Questions About Financial Aid
Questions about FAFSA, the California Dream Act Application, scholarships, grants, or other financial aid can be confusing. The Financial Aid Office can help you understand the financial aid process and complete required steps.

If You Are Dealing With a Personal or Basic-Needs Challenge
Sometimes the problem affecting college has nothing to do with a class. Food, housing, transportation, finances, or other personal challenges can make it harder to focus on school.

Lemoore College offers student support resources that can help connect students with assistance. The college's Student Support Program Resources include services such as academic support, CalWORKs, EOPS/CARE, and other programs.

Still Don't Know Who to Ask?
That is okay.

Lemoore College's Office Directory provides contact information for many departments and programs across campus, including Admissions & Records, Counseling, Financial Aid, ACE, EOPS/CARE, CalWORKs, DSPS, Military Services, and more.

You Only Need to Know Your Next Question
College does not come with a handbook that tells you exactly which office to visit every time something goes wrong. Sometimes, getting help starts with simply saying, “I am not sure who I need to talk to.”

You do not have to figure out the entire process by yourself. Start with the question you have today, connect with someone who can help, and let them guide you toward the next step.

You do not have to know all the answers. You just have to know that you can ask.
