Transfer Services

Your education plan maps where you are going.

Your Student Education Plan is more than paperwork. It connects your major, transfer goal, and semester-by-semester classes so you know which courses count before you take them.

Meet with counseling early, keep your plan current, and use Transfer Services to compare CSU, UC, private, out-of-state, and Fresno State pathways.

What You Should Know First

Your Plan Matters

An education plan ties your major to the exact courses a university will accept, helping you avoid extra semesters and classes that do not transfer.

Transfer Guarantees

California has transfer guarantees for community college students, including ADT, UC TAG, CSU Transfer Success Pathway, and Fresno State Bulldog Bound.

Planning Saves You Money

Completing lower-division work at Lemoore College can be one of the most affordable routes to a bachelor's degree. Ask about fee waivers, grants, and scholarships while you plan.

Enrolled to Transferred - 5 Simple Steps

Start at step one no matter how many units you have. Each step is available on campus and helps keep your transfer goal on track.

  1. Meet Counseling and Build the Plan

Bring your major idea, even if it is still rough, and any transcripts. Counseling can help map your Cal-GETC, major preparation, and semester-by-semester classes.

  2. Pick Your Major and Target University

Review major requirements at assist.org, compare ADT options, and ask whether UC TAG, TSP, or Bulldog Bound fits your goal.

Choosing two or three target campuses is smart planning, not indecision.

  3. Talk to University Representatives

CSU, UC, private, and out-of-state representatives visit campus throughout the semester. Ask about your major, GPA, application timing, and any gaps you should close. Be sure to attend Transfer Day in November.

  4. Attend Workshops and Transfer Day

Application workshops walk you through CSU and UC applications, including personal insight questions. Transfer Day brings visiting campuses together in one place.

  5. Apply On Time

Submit CSU and UC applications during the filing period, complete every next step each campus sends, and keep meeting with counseling until you accept an offer.

Four Transfer Destinations

Transfer Services can help you compare CSU, UC, California private colleges, and out-of-state universities before you commit.

California Private Colleges

Private universities actively recruit community college transfers. Many offer smaller classes, specialized academic programs, strong transfer support, and generous financial aid.

Out-of-State Colleges

  • Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE): Reduced tuition, no more than 150% of in-state rates, at participating public colleges in 16 western states.
  • Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs): Guaranteed admission, priority housing, and no application fee at select campuses.
  • Other public and private schools: Many accept California community college credit.

Guaranteed Transfer Routes

Your education plan is what makes you eligible. Ask your counselor which guarantee fits your major and target campus.

CSU

Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT)

Finish an ADT in your major and you earn guaranteed admission to the CSU system with junior standing, plus a degree in hand before you go. Review the available ADT degrees with your counselor early; the course pattern matters.

Ask your counselor which ADT fits your major.

UC

Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG)

A signed guarantee of admission at a participating UC. Four moves: choose your campus from the TAG matrix, complete the TAG application in the UC Transfer Admission Planner, fulfill every requirement, then submit your UC application.

Six participating campuses: UC Davis, UC Irvine, UC Merced, UC Riverside, UC Santa Barbara, and UC Santa Cruz.

Application period: September 1-30.

CSU

Transfer Success Pathway (TSP)

An agreement with a CSU campus that guarantees admission for first-time freshmen who were not CSU-eligible after high school, or who could not attend for personal or financial reasons: graduated in 2025 or earlier, with no college credit earned since.

Application period: August 1-October 31.

CSU Transfer Requirements

  • 60 CSU-transferable units with a 2.0 minimum GPA.
  • The "Golden Four" completed with a C or better.
  • Good academic standing at your current or most recent college.

UC Transfer Requirements

  • 60 UC-transferable units with a 2.4 minimum GPA.
  • The seven-course pattern completed.

You May Already Be on an ADT Pathway

Since August 1, 2024, Lemoore College may automatically place students in an Associate Degree for Transfer pathway if they declare a goal of transferring to a four-year university.

This helps keep coursework matched to your field, avoid classes you do not need, and place you on a clear route to a bachelor's degree.

You still need to build the plan. Develop your Student Education Plan with counseling, then check in regularly.

How It Works

  1. Choose "obtain an associate degree and transfer" when you apply.
  2. You are placed in an ADT program if one exists for your major.
  3. Build your Student Education Plan with a counselor.
  4. Check in with counseling each semester.

When It May Not Apply

  • No ADT exists for your major.
  • You are headed to a UC campus or pursuing a different degree.
  • A local associate degree fits your goals better.
