Program overview

Build a rewarding career supporting young learners with the Child Development: Assistant Teacher (LC) certificate program. This program prepares students to meet the educational requirements for the California Child Development Permit, enabling them to work in state-funded early childhood education programs or other child-focused environments. Learn the foundational skills needed to guide and nurture young children while meeting the state’s guidelines for early learning professionals. All coursework must be completed with a grade of “C” or better to qualify for permit application.
