LEMOORE, Calif. – Lemoore College’s Golden Eagles are showing competitive grit across multiple sports this fall, with strong efforts in soccer, wrestling, basketball, and volleyball.
President James Preston praised the college’s student-athletes. “Our student-athletes represent Lemoore College with pride, drive, and a competitive spirit,” he said. “They’re working hard, learning together, and pushing each other to improve in every contest.”
The men’s soccer team holds a 2-6-2 overall record with 19 total goals. Alan Enriquez (#10) leads with seven goals, while David Valdez (#6) and Omar Lara (#11) share the team lead in assists with three apiece. In a string of hard-fought matches, the Golden Eagles have battled to the final whistle and are improving each game as the team’s game plan comes together.
The women’s soccer team is 3-7-1 overall and 2-2-1 in the Central Valley Conference, with wins over Madera Community College and Porterville College. Bailee Goforth leads the team in goals, and Jackie Pizano leads the conference in assists. The squad is experiencing steady growth, with a young roster learning on the fly and competing closely in most matches.
The men’s wrestling program is out of the gate strong with a dual-meet victory over Sierra College and a close contest with Fresno City College. Lemoore capped an exciting home weekend with a 28-19 conference win over Victor Valley College on Friday, followed by the Golden Eagle Invitational on Saturday, the first significant event of the 3C2A season, where 20 of the state’s 23 teams brought full squads. The Golden Eagles finished seventh out of 20 teams. Notable performances included: Damien Valdez, 4th at 165 pounds; Joey Clark, 4th at 174; Juan Nuno, 2nd after a close final; and Diego Nuno, 4th. The team followed up an impressive performance at the Golden Eagle invitational with dual meet wins over Moorpark College and East LA College.
Women’s volleyball continues to build momentum and is having the best season in program history with a current record of 13-7. November will bring some additional excitement as both Men’s Basketball and Women’s Basketball will hit the court. The Women’s Basketball program is under the leadership of new head coach Keshawn Johnson and had a strong performance at the Delta College showcase in September. Men’s basketball is gearing up for the 2025-26 season after a 4-0 showcase in Southern California in late September, with wins over Victor Valley, College of the Desert, San Diego Mesa, and Copper Mountain. Mykale McCoy averaged a double-double and delivered high-level dunks. Na’Jae Stevenson posted double-digit rebounding, high-level defense, and above-the-rim finishing. Kason Smith added highlight dunks, Davion “DK” Jackson anchored the defense, and Elijah Gomez hit big-time threes. Freshmen Eleven Williams and Tavon Jenkins helped lead at point guard, and returning sophomore Braydin Samuels hit clutch shots and played high-level defense to help secure all four victories. The Golden Eagles basketball teams will be hosting a Meet the Golden Eagles night on Thursday, October 16th that will feature a youth clinic, 3-point contest, and dunk contest!
Across every program, Golden Eagle athletes continue to demonstrate determination, teamwork, and growth. As the season continues, Lemoore College looks to build on early progress and carry momentum into the heart of conference play.
