  •

    Self-Registration

    • Use the Lemoore College Dual Enrollment Portal (https://lemoorecollege.dualenroll.com/) to self-register after open registration begins for any available term, contingent upon the following:
      • Meeting all course prerequisites (where applicable)
      • Obtaining parent/guardian consent
      • Obtaining high school counselor or administrator consent
    • Faculty authorization is not required for self-registration if completed before the course start date.

    Waitlist

    • Request to be placed on the waitlist for a selected course through Lemoore College Dual Enrollment Portal, or choose an alternate section that fits your schedule.
    • Check the college student email regularly while on the waitlist. If a seat becomes available before the course begins, an email notification will be sent. A five-day window is provided to claim the seat.
    • To claim a seat, email admissionslemoore@whccd.edu from the college student email account. Include the college ID number and full course information (e.g., ART-042-L01) with a request to be added to the course.

    Add Authorization

    • If attempting to register for a course that has already started, faculty add authorization is required. Email the instructor using the college student email account, including the college ID number and full course information (e.g., ART-042-L01).
    • Once add authorization is received, forward the email to admissionslemoore@whccd.edu, including the college ID number, course name and section, and request to be added to the course.
      • Note: It may take up to 24 hours for the course to be available in Canvas.

    Dropping a Course

    • Courses may be dropped through DualEnroll.com.
    • Log in to DualEnroll.com. An option to drop or withdraw (resulting in a "W" on the transcript) will appear next to the selected course. Review the course syllabus for specific drop and withdraw deadlines. For additional information, contact lemooredualenrollment@whccd.edu.

Note: All students are subject to drop deadlines, which may impact the academic transcript.

  • The term dual enrollment refers to students being enrolled—concurrently—in two different educational institutions. This means that a student enrolled in high school may be dual enrolled at a local institution of higher learning, in this case Lemoore College or Coalinga College. If students pass their college courses, they will receive credit towards a Lemoore College degree or certificate. Depending on the high school, the student may also receive credit towards their high school diploma.

  • There are many advantages to participating in dual enrollment.

    • In some cases, the student may be able to attain an Associate’s degree at the same time or shortly after their high school graduation.
    • Dual enrollment is a cost‐efficient way for students to accumulate college credits because courses are free and taken through the local high school.
    • Participation in dual enrollment may ease the transition from high school to college by giving students a sense of what college academics are like.
  • Dual enrollment courses are different in that they are taught to the rigor of a college course. Students will be using the same textbooks and syllabi as they would if they were taking a course at  Lemoore or Coalinga College. As such, please be aware that discussion topics and course materials are generally designed for adult students and may not be appropriate for younger students. Assignments will be graded using college rubrics and standards. The final grade the student receives in their dual enrollment course will be recorded on an official college transcript.

  • In some instances, if your student chose a section that meets face to face, you still will need to travel to the college campus. There are online options in which your student will not need to travel to the College. Please make sure your student has a conversation with their high school counselor to review our course schedule and the implications related to online education. Additionally, we have a small selection of courses taught at your student’s local high school.

  • Dual enrollment is a great option for many high school students. However there are some things to be aware of when taking a dual enrollment course.

    • If a student fails a course as a dual enrollment student, the student will need to retake that course before being allowed to enroll in future classes.
    • Too many failed dual enrollment classes will jeopardize future college enrollment and possibly financial aid.
    • If a student needs additional support and is failing English, Math and has a low GPA, then a college course may not be the best choice.
    • Financial aid has a 90 unit limit and thus dual enrollment courses must be carefully selected with the advice of a college counselor

Remember: Participating in a dual enrollment class is an important decision and should involve a conversation between you, your student, and your high school counselor.

How do I find the online classrooms?

If a course is offered online, there is no assigned classroom. Most online courses require students to read course materials, watch videos, and complete assignments independently.

Note: It’s important to check the course syllabus for due dates and to check your college and Canvas email for any important notifications.

How do I make an appointment with my college counselor? To schedule an appointment with a college counselor, call or email using the contact information below. For appointments, call (559) 925-3130 or email lemooredualenrollment@whccd.edu.
What is a syllabus? A syllabus is a document provided by your instructor that outlines important information about your course. It includes details like the course schedule, assignments, grading policies, textbook requirements, contact information, and classroom expectations. Reading the syllabus at the start of the class is important. It helps you understand what’s expected and how to succeed in the course.
What is census date, and why is it important? The census date is a specific point early in the semester when the college takes official enrollment counts. It’s important because your enrollment status on this date affects your financial aid, academic record, and eligibility for certain programs. If you’re not actively participating in the course by the census date—such as missing assignments or not logging in—you may be dropped from the class. Make sure to stay engaged and complete any required work before this date. (Note: Check the course syllabus for drop date information or email admissionslemoore@whccd.edu.
What is a withdraw, and why is it important? A student may withdraw from a class or classes prior to attending 70% of the class session and receive a grade of W. If a student remains enrolled in a class beyond 70%, then a grade other than a W must be assigned. A student may also receive a W after the 70% upon petition and consultation with the appropriate faculty in extenuating circumstances such as verified cases of accidents, illnesses or other circumstances beyond the control of the student. A W shall not be used in calculating grade point averages
    What is FERPA?

Lemoore College follows FERPA regulations, which prevent the college from sharing student information with anyone other than the student or their partnering high school.

To allow a parent or guardian access to your college information, you must complete the FERPA Student Record Release form. This form is available through DualEnroll.com and can also be found in the Student Portal under Student Forms.

What do I need for my dual enrollment course?

To succeed in your dual enrollment course, make sure you have the following:

    • A device other than a cellphone to access your course(s)
    • Reliable internet connection
    • Required textbooks, if applicable (Note: 70% of Lemoore College courses have zero to low textbook costs)

Add authorization is the faculty’s way of managing their rosters and ensuring class sizes follow district policies and requirements.

When do you need add authorization? If the class has already started, even if it’s the first day, you must email the instructor teaching the class to request add authorization.

How will add authorization be granted? The instructor teaching the class will need your student ID number. The instructor will then enter your ID in our system setting you up with add authorization. The instructor will email you back letting you know the status.

If approved, forward the email to admissionslemoore@whccd.edu, including the college ID number, course name and section, and request to be added to the course.

We encourage students, parents, and high school counselors to visit our FAQs section to get additional information on Dual Enrollment.

    Limitations

    Prerequisites:

    • When a course has prerequisite requirements, students are required to have pre-existing knowledge to be successful in the course. For example, successful completion (a grade of C or better) is required in FLSPN 1 or a full year of high school Spanish is required to be considered for enrollment in FLSPN 2.
    • For courses with an English or math prerequisite, students must submit a copy of their high school transcripts for WHCL to evaluate whether the student meets the course prerequisite.
    • If the student has completed the prerequisite course at a different college, they must submit an unofficial transcript to receive a prerequisite waiver. The prerequisite requirement must be cleared prior to registration.
  • Lemoore College

    • Dual enrollment students can self-register after open registration for any available term contingent on meeting all course prerequisites (where applicable).
    • Dual enrollment students can self-register without faculty authorization before the first day of class for the selected course.
    • Dual enrollment students MUST request faculty add authorization on or after the first day of class for the selected course. See add authorization section below for more information.
    • Dual enrollment students can place themselves on the waitlist for a selected course. Alternatively, students can choose other available sections that fit their schedules.
    • Dual enrollment students will be automatically added to the waitlist. If a student does not want to be on the waitlist contact lemooredualenrollment@whccd.edu.
    • If a student receives add authorization from an instructor, the student must email lemooredualenrollment@whccd.edu to be added to the course.
    • Students can go into their dualenroll.com portal and make schedule changes. NOTE: all students are subject to course drop dates, which can impact the student’s transcript.
    • Students are encouraged to email lemooredualenrollment@whccd.edu for additional information regarding drop dates.

    Coalinga College

    • Dual enrollment students’ registration must be processed by a Coalinga College admissions official. Only those classes identified on the Dual Enrollment Request form will be allowed for enrollment.
    • Because dual enrollment student registration may not displace or reduce access for adult college students, high school students are not permitted to be placed on a waitlist or register for courses with a waitlist.
    • After officially enrolling in classes, a dual enrollment student will not be able to make changes to their class schedule. However, dual enrollment students may use other functions available such as paying fees, printing a class schedule, etc.
    • Please contact the Office of Admissions and Records if you have questions regarding adding or dropping courses. Dual enrollment students must adhere to all established deadlines and dates as published in the academic calendar. Changes to a dual enrollment student’s schedule must be requested by submitting a revised Dual Enrollment Request form.
    • All students requesting to add a course on or after the first day of class must also contact the instructor to request authorization to add before registration can be processed. Add authorization is granted at the discretion of the instructor.
  • Dual Enrollment English Multiple Measures

    • Students with a high school GPA of 2.6 and above are ENG 001 eligible.

    • Students with a high school GPA below 2.6, the English Co-Req is highly recommended.
